Man charged with shooting girlfriend, wife
An Arizona man was arrested Monday for fatally shooting his girlfriend and her wife as they sat inside their suburban Phoenix home, authorities said.
Murdoch, 29, was taken into custody in a Phoenix suburb where he was a resident, and a second woman, identified as a 21-year-old woman, was treated at a hospital.
The motive was not immediately clear.
Moss County Attorney Greg Harte said the couple, identified by police as Susan and Richard, were attending their daughter’s wedding in a suburban Phoenix suburb when a bullet pierced the front of the house.
The bullet traveled about 5 feet from the house, through a closet door and exited the house through a hole in the wall, Harte told reporters.
The couple had left for their daughter�s wedding in nearby Prescott on Friday, Harten said.
The daughter was not hurt, and Harte did not elaborate.
The incident is the second domestic-violence incident involving a bagpipe player in Arizona this year.
A couple in Payson, Ariz., died in a shooting early Friday after their 7-year old daughter shot herself in the head with a gun at the home of her boyfriend, who was sitting on the couch, authorities say.
The couple had been arguing and arguing for hours before the shooting.
