‘It’s so loud’: Black Watch bagpipe tunes, instruments in the foreground, on display at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History
When you’ve spent more than 20 years at a piano, it’s easy to forget about the instruments in your collection.
But at the National Museum, where you’ll find blackwater bagpipers, flutes and cellos, the bagpiping world of the 1800s was alive and well.
Gibson Bagpipes in the Museum of African American Art is open through Sept. 1.
Its music is made possible by a partnership with the Smithsonian Institution.
The museum is located at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C. Admission is free.
